Illustration as a way of seeing
Illustration began for me as a way of paying closer attention to life. During quieter and sometimes lonely moments, drawing became a way to observe nature, people, movement and the small details that often go unnoticed. Over the years, my sketchbooks — often filled with Chinese ink — became a kind of visual journal where I learned through observation, repetition and experimentation, gradually developing my own language through line, form and occasional color.
What began as a personal practice eventually grew into commissioned work, including cards, merchandise, printed pieces, comics and manga-inspired projects. Yet illustration still means much the same to me today: a way of taking notes on the beauty of life, preserving something I have seen, felt or imagined through shapes and details.
